El Magdaleniense es el periodo paleolítico del que más yacimientos conocemos en toda la Región Cantábrica, y del que, por lo tanto, tenemos un mayor número de información disponible. En Asturias, pionera en la investigación del Paleolítico superior cantábrico, y también peninsular, el número de yacimientos magdalenienses excavados destaca por encima del resto de evidencias paleolíticas, lo cual otorga a este periodo la categoría de ser el momento paleolítico más destacable en cuanto a la variedad de restos arqueológicos y artísticos. En este trabajo tratamos de mostrar una visión general sobre este periodo, haciendo especial hincapié en los yacimientos y casuísticas específicas de Asturias.
Magdalenian is the Palaeolithic period in which we know more sites along the Cantabrian region, and for this reason, we have more information. The number of Magdalenian sites excavated in Asturias, pioneer place in the Cantabrian Upper Palaeolithic research, and also in the Iberian Peninsula, is higher than other periods, and gives to the Magdalenian the status of being the most important period for his variety of archaeological remains and palaeolithic art evidences. In this paper, we show a view about this period of time, focusing on sites and their archaeological problematics in Asturias.
