Video has been widely used in education as an exhibition resource, but not as a tool for students to be the creators of their own knowledge. The references found are practically non- existent, and even more so if we focus on areas of a scientific-technological nature. The creation and publication of explanatory videos by students to improve their competence in oral expression and their assimilation of concepts, is one of the objectives of this research using qualitative and quantitative techniques. Explaining a practice or an exercise and turning it into a story narrated, recorded, published and disseminated through social networks by students is one of the focuses of this study. The other focus of the research focuses on the use of the explanatory video created by the teachers and if its use has undergone modifications during the confinement suffered in Spain since March 2020.
