This study addresses career guidance for migrants through the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE). Using quantitative research, the beliefs, professional practices, and perceived self-efficacy for intervention with migrants, as well as the cultural intelligence of the SCE staff, were analyzed. The sample included 195 employees from employment offices and collaborating entities, who completed a questionnaire that included the Cultural Intelligence Scale by Aug et al. (2007). The results show that SCE staff score above average in cultural intelligence and feel more capable of working with young people, individuals over 45 years old, long-term unemployed people, and those with low qualifications, and to a lesser extent with women victims of violence, people of ethnic or religious diversity, LGTBI, people with disabilities, and migrants. It is also observed that the guidance offered to migrants focuses on acquiring employability skills with short- and medium-term goals, rather than building a long-term professional and life project. The conclusion is that there is a need to improve specialized training for migrant assistance and gender equality, as well as to improve demand management and career guidance protocols.
