Abstract
La instalación de la primera máquina de vapor en las Minas de Almadén supuso un auténtico hito en la historia de este establecimiento, marcando el comienzo de lo que sería la revolución industrial de estas minas. Gracias a las labores de investigación llevadas a cabo y a las nuevas herramientas y tecnologías que nos ofrece la ingeniería gráfica, se ha podido realizar una reconstrucción virtual y una maqueta a escala, de esa primera máquina de vapor. De esta forma, se puede dar a conocer a la sociedad, las características y el funcionamiento de una máquina extinta en el tiempo, dando aún más valor, si cabe, al patrimonio industrial y minero de Almadén.
The installation of the first steam engine in the Almadén mines was a real milestone in the history of this establishment, marking the beginning of what would become the industrial revolution of these mines. Thanks to the research work carried out and the new tools and technologies offered by graphic engineering, it has been possible to carry out a virtual reconstruction and a scale model of that first steam engine. In this way, society can be made aware of the characteristics and operation of an extinct machine, giving even more value, if possible, to Almadén's industrial and mining heritage.
