dc.description.abstractThe current work presents an exergy analysis of each component of an absorption refrigeration system using water-ammonia as working fluids and with a rectifier in the generator output. A static simulation was performed with fixed temperatures and heat input, thus obtaining the thermodynamic state of each point, then the value of the Coefficient of Performance (COP) and the exergetic efficiency was calculated. The COP behavior, efficiency, cooling capacity and irreversibilities were also analyzed for each component due to the variation in the condensation temperature, evaporation temperature and the heat of the gases supplied to generator. The analysis developed in this study also shows that ways to improve absorption refrigeration systems should focus on developing more efficient components, in particular the generator, heat exchanger and the absorber, all of which presented high exergy losses in the system.en
