During the period from March 2003 until December 2015 two transects in the NW Mediterranean consisting of 8 vertical stations were carried out once per month in order to study the physical, chemical and optical conditions of the spots of interest. One station of them is studied in order to determine the chlorophyll concentration distribution through the vertical profile of the water column and throughout the year during the period of the temporal series. Also other parameters as nutrients, salinity and temperature were studied. The chlorophyll maximum through the year is given during February and March both in depth and surface samples where nutrients concentration is an important contributing factor. Chlorophyll data is obtained by means of two different methods as Fluorimeter and fluorescence optical sensors which will be compared in order to estimate the quality of the obtained data.
