Resumen
This research argues that public awareness on data privacy and automated decision-making processes, and the growing interest towards clarity and transparency in legal and technical writing, have influenced the presentation of Web applications’ Terms of Service (ToS). This paper explores if their readability level has improved over the last decade, by applying readability tests to the ToS of the top five most visited websites in Spain. Additionally, the presence of Plain English resources and new concepts related to automated decision-making processes are also examined.
