In Spain, as in other neighboring countries, the concept of landscape has traditionally been linked to an aesthetic vision of the environment, and as such, has been gradually integrated into the legislation of cultural heritage. The historical norm revealsthe awareness of a deep link between an object of cultural heritage and its surrounding space. In fact, historical-artistic heritage and natural heritage share parallel processes of constitution and consolidation1.The Constitution of 1978 established theprotection of cultural heritage and the environment as fundamental objectives of public authority. Protection to be exercised in the framework of a system that recognizes a high degree of autonomy to the different regions in these matters. The ratification in 2007 of the European Landscape Convention (ELC) was the Spanish commitment to the identification, protection, management and management of its landscapes. The diversity of elements involved in the perception of landscapes has given rise to initiativesand reflections from different administrative and scientific fields. The objective of this paper is to approach this growing sensitivity by studying its impact on the regulations and analyzing the associated initiatives in a territory such as the Region of Murcia.en
