This study focuses on the first part of The Exodus which is a poem of devotion that can be found in one of the most important codices of the English language, the Junius Manuscript. The main objective is to translate the first part of the poem known as ‘The Lord’s Pact with Moses’ but there are subsidiary objectives like understanding how conceptual metaphors evolve with language by focusing on the particular case of kennings.
