Las rábitas del Magreb y al-Andalus son todavía un tema que requiere nuevos estudios y perspectivas, especialmente en lo que atañe a su materialidad. Por este motivo, en primer lugar, se ha tratado de obtener información de las fuentes hagiográficas y se ha analizado con el fin de filtrar todos aquellos datos que sirvan para aproximarnos a sus funciones y las actividades que acogían. A continuación, se ha confrontado este material con la información descriptiva que ofrecen los libros de habices de Granada y con algunos ejemplos de interés cuyas características espaciales son parcialmente conocidas. Todo ello con el fin de aproximarnos, en la medida de lo posible, a este tipo de edificaciones y conocer su morfología durante la etapa almohade.The present work intends to prompt further reflection on a subject that has been widely discussed over the course of recent decades, but which continues to face numerous uncertainties. The rābiṭa-s of the Maghreb and al-Andalus are still a topic that requires new studies and perspectives, especially with regard to their materiality. For this reason, first of all, an attempt has been made to extract information provided by hagiographic sources and which been analysed in order to filter all the data that can be used to gain an idea of their functions and the activities they housted. Secondly, this material has been contrasted with the descriptive information offered by the libros de habices of Granada and with some interesting examples whose spatial characteristics are partially known.
