A hermitage, documented since the Middle Ages, still stands today. This structure sits atop a preceding Roman villa, which has been minimally explored through limited excavations in the first half of the 20th century. It has been suggested that this villa was established in the 1st century B.C., but it underwent significant expansion in the 4th century A.D. The residential complex was organized around a peristyle, with adjacent rooms featuring elaborate mosaic floors. The development of this site remains poorly understood, though it is presumed to have been occupied until Late Antiquity.
