atribuciones y ejecutando decisiones:
políticas, judiciales, económicas,
militares..., convirtiéndose en el
bastión de la guerra contra Castilla,
que simbolizaba el absolutismo de
Felipe IV y de sus ministros, en
especial del conde de Olivares y del
protonotario Villanueva. Durante su
reinado, el Consell de Cent sufrió
constantes presiones económicas,
militares y agravios varios. The constitution of the municipal

century and lasted till its abolition in

activities beyond the strictly local
ones. All through its history, it had a
great importance both in politics and
economics in Catalonia. Its decisivo
role at the beginning of the
Separation war (in 1640) should be
pointed out. Barcelona started
concentrating authority and executing

economic, military. It became the

nueva crisis cuyos antecedentes
I\ñás allá de
estas discusiones, en el fondo de la
crisis latían los desencuentros y la
desconfianza entre el poder
republicano español y un poder
autonómico que quería conservar los
espacios autonómicos conquistados a

por sus baños termales, donde
Fernando Vil fundó una población de

singular y anacrónico. Constituye un
ejemplo tardío de urbanismo ilustrado
en un Real Sitio, de envergadura
semejante a los proyectos
emprendidos en tiempos de Carlos III,
pero en una realidad política bien
distinta.
La Isabela fue concebida como nueva
población en un Real Sitio que debía
mantenerse habitado para funcionar
como entidad benéfica, como lugar de
ocio y reposo de los monarcas, y
como núcleo de actividad económica,
aunando el urbanismo cortesano de
los Reales Sitios con otras
experiencias de creación de
poblaciones de nueva planta. The Royal Country House of La
Isabela, welTknown for its thermal spa,

of new creation, represents an
exceptional and anachronic fact. It
constitutes a late sample of
enlightened urbanism for a Royal
Country Estáte. This project has a
similar magnitude to the ones
undertaken by Carlos III, though in a
very different political reality.
La Isabela was concived as a new
village within a Royal Country Estáte,
which should be inhabited to function
as a chahtable entity, a a pleasure and
relax retirement place for the
monarchy and as an economic
nucleus.07552<a class="citation_author_name" title="Browse by Author Name for Aguado Pintor, Amparo" href="/fez/list/author/Aguado Pintor, Amparo/">Aguado Pintor, Amparo</a> .
