After reviewing the main contributions of previous research on the role of climatic variables in tourism demand functions, we explore different modelling alternatives to introduce temperature and rainfall in a gravity model. The dataset used comprises interregional tourism flows by Spanish residents from 2011 to 2015. We first estimate a benchmark model with both temperature and rainfall at the destination expressed in levels, and then consider some extensions to this model. In particular, special attention is paid to analyzing whether the sensitivity that tourists may have to weather factors can change across seasons. Other modelling issues examined include the relationship between climatic variables at the destination and at home, the influence of weather in previous periods (lagged values of temperature and rain), the variability of the weather variables (captured by the standard deviation of these variables), or whether the effect of temperature varies with the climatic characteristics of the region. Our empirical results confirm that spring and summer tourism in Spain is more sensitive to weather conditions, that the number of domestic overnight stays in Spain is strongly influenced by changes in the difference in temperature between tourists’ home and destination regions, that the estimated parameters of lagged weather variables are higher than those corresponding to the travelling months, that temperature variability in the destination region reduces tourism demand, and that the effect of temperature on destination choice for residents in moderate-climate regions is lower than for residents in other types of regions.0542Muñoz Martínez, César . However, the most predictive factors that produce high levels of resilience in this population have hardly been studied. Purpose To assess the protective factors that promote resilience in young Sub-Saharan immigrants who have arrived in Spain as undocumented minors. Methods Three hundred and twenty-six young Sub-Saharan immigrants were recruited, all males aged 18 and 23 (M = 19.63; SD = 1.13). Participants were divided into two sub-groups according to their level of resilience (high or low) using the 14-item Resilience Scale-RS-14. Sociodemographic, risk and protective variables were assessed in both groups. Results There are important differences between both sub-samples in protective and risk variables. However, the highest positive and negative correlations were similar for both subgroups. In addition, the sociodemographic and protective variables most predictive of high resilience in the subgroup of resilient Sub-Saharan youth were having a job (β = 8.78; CI (95%) = 7.98–9.12; p < .01) and presenting a high level of self-efficacy (β = 7.31; CI (95%) = 6.18–8.12; p < .01), along with other sociodemographic and psychosocial variables less predictive, but also significant. Conclusions Resilience promotes adequate mental health and is considered a possible outcome after suffering adverse situations such as immigration. It is essential to improve the protective factors that minimise the emotional impact of risk factors on these young sub-Saharan immigrants in order to promote resilient and non-psycho-pathological outcomes (anxiety and depression), which could improve the well-being and mental health of this group in the destination country.0272Sánchez Teruel, D., Robles Bello, M.A. y Camacho Conde, José Antonio . The main objective of this article is to modify an existing control law based on the kinematic model to improve the response when the robot is backwards oriented and to reach the destination point in less time and with a shorter trajectory. Stability of the proposed control law is validated by Lyapunov Criterion. Some procedures are implemented to test this approach both in simulation with MATLAB, and experimentally with the Khepera IV robot.0392Fabregas, Ernesto, Farias, Gonzalo, Aranda-Escolástico, Ernesto, Garcia, Gonzalo, Chaos, Dictino, Dormido Canto, Sebastián y Dormido Bencom, Sebastián . This paper investigates the value of texts from social networks as a data source for detecting the spatial distribution of problems within a public transit network by geolocating citizens' feelings, and analyzes the effects some factors such as population or income have over that spatial spread, with the goal of developing a more intelligent and sustainable public transit service. For that purpose, Twitter data from the Madrid Metro account is collected over a two-month period. Topics and sentiments are identified from text mining and machine learning algorithms, and mapped to explore spatial and temporal patterns. Lastly, a Geographically Weighted Regression model is used to explore the causality of the spatial distribution of complaining users, by using official data sources as exploratory variables. Results show Twitter users tend to be mid-income workers who reside in peripheral areas and mainly tweet when traveling to workplaces. The main detected problems were punctuality and breakdowns in transfer stations or in central areas, mainly in the early morning of weekdays, and affected by density of points of interest in destination areas.0352Osorio-Arjona, Joaquín, Horak, Jiri, Svoboda, Radek y García-Ruiz, Yolanda . Falleció en 1947.Bruno Ibañez Gálvez is well-known as one of the cruelest oppressors of the Spanish Civil War. Primarily, he focused his actions on Cordoba city where he was by chance at the outbreak of the war. In 1909 he took part in the Africa War operations as an infantry officer. In 1911, he left the Infantry and joint up the Spanish Civil Guard. Due to his closeness to Ciudad Real, he was involved in some famous murder cases as the so-called «La reinilla» or the robbery of Madrid-Andalusia express. He contributed to the workers’ movement suppression in 1912, 1914 and 1917 too. As an anti-republican, he quit the active service during the first two-year period («primer bienio») and he re-entered during the second two year period. Between 1936 and 1937, he held the Public Order Headquarters and the civil governorship at Cascajo colonel command. Then, he was removed from his post in Cordoba but he held different posts in several destinations. This article approaches to us, from a landscaping point of view, to the geographic wealth of the territory pitiuso, taking like reference the islands from Eivissa and Formentera. Both territories conserve interesting samples of natural landscape and rural, identitarias with the Mediterranean culture and traditions, nevertheless, they cross a process of transformation due to the tourist pressure. In the last decades a series of initiatives of putting in value of certain elements of the rural landscape has started up, indeed, like brake to the landscape deterioration. First of these initiatives payesa by means of the concession of economic aid or subsidy is related the rehabilitation of the house, destined to the maintenance and recovery of these constructions. Another one of the experiences that we analyzed is the recognition of the complex road network that vertebran the agrarian world pitiuso by means of the signaling and inventory of the elements that finds its step, wells, defensive towers, etc. The article evaluates the reach of these policies from an environmental point of view and citizen hoping that in the long term, pitiuso evolves in a substantial improvement of the landscape and in the greater one it brings back to consciousness citizen, of greater esteem towards the Balearic landscape.06732Santa Cecilia Mateos, Fernando Javier . To this end, we have used mobile phone data provided by the National Institute of Statistics from four days corresponding to different phases of the pandemic. Origin–Destination matrices and population estimation calculations at the spatial level of population cells have been elaborated. The results show different patterns that correspond to the phenomena that have occurred, as the decrease of the population during the periods associated with the confinement measures. The consistency of findings with the reality and the generally good correlation with the population census data indicate that mobile phone records are a useful source of data for the elaboration of demographic and mobility studies during pandemics.0402Osorio-Arjona, Joaquín y Obras‑Loscertales Sampériz, Julia de las . The Constitution, while putting the basis for the political decentralization of the State, configured the Judiciary on a unitary model, so that the Judiciary and the model of State appeared to be two realities destined to ignore each other, and not seek any type of reciprocal influence. The principle of jurisdictional unity, understood in a particularly rigid way, linked with a distribution of powers in the field of administration of justice that seemed to exclude the Autonomous Communities, led inevitably to that conclusion. However, both statutes as LOPJ as the current statutory reforms have tried different mechanisms of rapprochement between the two realities. The STC 31/2010 shows how these mechanisms are clearly limited by the constitutional provisions; only a constitutional reform would allow a true adequacy between the Judiciary and the model of State. The purpose of this paper is to see in which areas it can be, and what options are open in each.06542Cabellos Espiérrez, Miguel Ángel . This work investigates the use of social media as an efficient tool for urban mobility studies. In this case, the social network Twitter has been used, due to its wealth of spatial and temporal data and the possibility of accessing data free of charge. Using a database of geotagged tweets in the Madrid Metropolitan Area over a two-year period, this article describes the steps followed in the preparation and cleansing of the initial data and the visualisation of the results in Geographic Information Systems in the form of home-work matrices. The Origin-Destination matrices obtained were then compared with the official data provided by the Madrid Transport Consortium from the 2014 Synthetic Mobility Survey. The results of this comparison demonstrate that the level of precision offered by Twitter as a source of geographic information is adequate and efficient, thereby permitting a more in-depth analysis of flows between different zones of interest in the study area.0402Osorio-Arjona, Joaquín y García Palomares, Juan Carlos . In this work, we aimto map functional areas in Spain from four days corresponding to different phases of thedisease. For that goal, mobile phone data provided by Spanish Statistical National Institute(INE) has been used due to its value and potential to provide constantly updatedinformation of mobility at almost-real time. The methodology consists of a network analysisover an origin-destination matrix to obtain modularity values for 3214 population cellsprovided by the INE. These values were then used to cluster the cells into functional areas. The results show how different confinement and mobility restriction policies influence theamount, size and shape of the functional areas, and therefore, they affect access to servicesor jobs.0452Osorio-Arjona, Joaquín, Ruiz Santacruz, Javier Sebastián y Obras-Loscertales Sampériz, Julia de las . Agrippa a partir de un nuevo fragmentobibliuned:ETFSerie2-D8F90C2C-9B83-5142-5523-88675B99FDC6La reciente identificación de un
fragmento escultórico con la
representación de un toro preparado
ornamentalmente para su sacrificio, que
se encontraba depositado entre los
fondos del Museo Nacional de Arte
Romano de Mérida, ha permitido
relacionar la pieza con el conocido
relieve de M. Agrippa en acción de
sacrificar, de esta forma se puede
completar el relieve en su parte derecfia
según se le contemple frontalmente. A
The recent Identification of a piece of a
sculpture with the representation of an
ornamentally prepared bull for its
sacrifice, which was among the
collection of the National Museum of
Román Art has made possible to relate
the piece with the famous M. Agripa's
relief in a sacrificing position, in this
way we can complete the relief in its
right part if we look at it directiy. Taken
this, the interpretative visión of the
work of art is revised, thus obtaining
verification that it is a typical sacrifice
destined to the Román imperial cult,
where very frequently we find either a
high ranking official or someone
belonging to the emperor's family, who
is in charge of offering up the animal
victim, a highiy symbolic and recurring
sacrifice, which, like in the present
case generally involves the ritual
Cubans are one of the oldest immigrants
groups in Spain, due to their historical
relationship as well as to the political
situation present over the last few years.
In the past, Cuba was one of the main
points of destination for Spanish
immigrants. Even today, some of them still
remain in the island. The last migratory
wave, started in 1959, inverts the
direction, Cuba-Spain, establishing a
group of immigrants with clearly
differentiated traits to other colonies, and
which distinguished itself by the high
number of asylum and nationality seekers.
After years in which they arrived as a first
stop towards a migration into the United
States, with a predominantly political load,
they currently tend to stay in this country,
often as ¡Ilegal immigrants and
increasingly as migrants for purely
economic reasons. In the last few years,
the obstacles, both to exit Cuba and to
obtain an entry Visa into Spain, are
fostering a new change in the trend, with
lower figures, even though Cubans still
keep their wish of coming to Spain very
much alive.08422González Yanci, María Pilar and Aguilera Arilla, María José .
